LIANZA BOOK AWARDS FOR CHILDREN AND YOUNG ADULTS - THE WINNERS 2015

It was a chilly (6 degree) night in Wellington last night but that didn’t stop over 150 writers, illustrators, publishers, promoters, sponsors,  friends and families turning up at National Library for the LIANZA  Book Awards for Children and Young Adults. Inside the atmosphere was far from chilly enhanced by the generous helpings of Hell Pizzas (the major sponsor of the awards) – meat lover’s pizza was particularly delicious – and handmade, decadently rich and  meticulously decorated cupcakes.
Filled with these goodies and glasses of golden (and red) wine (or juice) it was a cheerful group that seated themselves at last for the announcements of the winners. How hard to be a judge!
(I will post some slightly fuzzy but human interest photos of the gathering that I took on my iPad,later today)
