The grasshoppers dance in the summertime hum, in
autumn in the sycamore trees and in winter they sleep in a hole in the hill.
Then, come the spring, they dance in the lush green vales. In a new genre for this writer we are
treated, as in the new book below from Ruth Paul, to a positive language feast
of a truly lyrical nature. Be very aware though if you are reading this aloud
to a group for the first time, several practise runs are needed, as there is
much to trip you up. Nina
Rycroft, the illustrator, has captured the changing seasons with subtle
colourings.
